摘要
A general model of a multi-species system of particles settling through a fluid, suitable for solution by the method of superposition of flow fields, is proposed. Comparisons with cell models and previously suggested continuum models are made. Following simplification of the general model, solutions are obtained for various two-species systems and are compared with experimental data. The simplified model predicts approximately the effects on settling velocities of size ratio, density ratio and concentration of the two species over a wide range of these variables. © 1969.
