The correct dimensioning of throttling at the evaporator of the once-through boiler in order to achieve equal water distribution at all pipes is important. The usual equations used for conventional boilers are not applicable for waste-heat boilers with a small temperature difference between flue gas and working medium, because the boundary conditions do not apply. A numerical determination, as described in this article, is unavoidable.
