摘要
Magnetic resonance spectroscopy (MRS) is a noninvasive technique that provides in vivo information about tissue metabolism. This article briefly describes the physical mechanisms of this powerful technique that enables imaging of endogenous markers for disease. Some examples are given of its current application in clinical use, thereby pointing out some pearls and pitfalls. In addition, new techniques for MRS and their potential for and impact on clinical use are discussed.
