摘要
The role of the school psychologist in the identification, assessment, and treatment of obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD) in children and adolescents within the educational setting is examined. The major phenomena that characterize OCD in this age group, including many of the more commonly reported obsessions and compulsions, are described. Examples of behavioral manifestations of these obsessions and compulsions in the school setting are provided. The role of the school psychologist is discussed, with particular emphasis placed on a behavioral consultative approach to the assessment and treatment of children who exhibit this disorder.
