摘要
We discuss a theoretical model of a CO2 hybrid laser within the framework of the planewave Maxwell-Bloch equations for a ring resonator. Because a hybrid laser is composed of two separate sections of active medium, which are pumped independently, we focus on the dependence of the output intensity upon the excitation level of the low pressure section, and the delay time between the discharge pulses applied to the two active segments of the laser. Our results are in satisfactory qualitative agreement with recent experimental observations.
