SIDE-BY-SIDE COMPARISONS OF INTEGRAL COLLECTOR STORAGE AND CONVENTIONAL COLLECTOR SOLAR WATER HEATING-SYSTEMS

摘要
The primary objective of this research is to compare the thermal performance of different generic solar water heating systems, when they are subjected to the same insolation conditions, ambient conditions, and draw profiles. For conventional flat-plate systems using different tank arrangements and piping configurations are compared to each other and to four different Integral Collector Storage systems. All the systems were operated for at least one full year so that system comparisons reflect seasonal variations. 3 refs.
