The process of knowledge construction: a maieutic task

The theme of this paper results from a roundtable in the opening class of the Course of listory, in the first semester of 2006, entitled ' The processes of building up acadernic knowledge: conflicts and achievements'. The interlocutors in this debate around knowledge and education are investigators from various fields: Fdgar Morin, Peter Burke, Moacir Gadotti, Frei Betto, Joao Batista ILibdnio and Juvenal Arduini, Their ideas enrich the reflection with different shades from various discourses on knowledge. The theoretical basis aims at sharpening the focus of the discussion, which approaches the concept proposed by the text with basis on a dialogue with education and knowledge.
