Doubleness, tragedy and otherness on the postcolonial challenge for identity search

This work intends to analyse Child of Sand, a novel written by the Moroccan author Tahar Ben Jelloun, by making use of the methodological perspective of Friedrich Nietzsche and Clement Rosset, which leads to a reflection on the tragic sense of existence and its relationship with the identity crisis in francophone societies, based on Magreb's contemporary novel as a specific postcolonial articulation of African literature.
