摘要：

This article explores the original holistic intent of systems science, its failure to deliver on this because of a fundamental flaw in the genetics of its conception, and the genetic reengineering that can return systems science to its original holistic intent and enter it into the mainstream of scientific theory and everyday practice. The reengineering is called critical systems thinking, and the form of it employed in practice is called total systems intervention.
