摘要：
The problem of the diffraction of a plane electromagnetic wave by a volume phase transmission grating is solved by coupled-wave theory for the condition of total internal reflection of light at the hologram boundary. Analytical expressions are obtained for calculating the diffraction efficiency of the TM wave, which can be applied to the case of grazing incidence, when the second derivatives in the coupled-wave equations must be taken into account.
