摘要：

This article aims to present the use of yeismo as a means of characterization in Spanish comic strips of the twentieth century. My study is based on the observation of this phenomenon in such comic strip writers as Mari Benejam i Ferrer, Manuel Vazquez Gallego, Francisco Ibanez Talavera, Alejandro Maria Estivill (Nene Estivill), Jose Penarroya Penarroya, Joan Rafart i Roldan (Raf) and Joaquin Cera Barrios. The Catalan sociolinguistic context stands out as a determining factor.
