With an annual consumption of about 200 000 t in Western Europe and 600 000 t worldwide, epoxy resins have captured a very wide area of application. In relevant further developments and improvements, aspects of environmental protection play an important part. The objectives are to reduce the proportion of solvents, to use water as solvent and to employ hardeners with a low free content of amine.
