摘要：

The intervention of the Inter-American Human Rights System, its consequences and challenges for Colombia as a defendant State are discussed in this article. Important domestic legal developments in this regard are considered in order to assess whether these are in step with the needs of balanced and effective framework for the legal defense of the State.
