摘要
This article sets forth an understanding of the purpose and role of business derived from an examination of Christian scriptures. Specifically, the authors identify a 'stewardship model' ofbusiness that contrasts with both the current shareholder and stakeholder models and is rooted in the three grand themes of the Christian Bible (i.e., creation, fall and redemption). The authors illustrate how locating an understanding of business activities within a particular religious tradition can challenge current business assumptions and infuse the enterprise of business with renewed meaning for its participants. © 2007 Taylor & Francis Group, LLC.
