TREATMENT PRINCIPLES IN CUTANEOUS METASTASIS OF LUNG CANCERS: REPORT OF TWO CASES

Various skin malignancies, either primary or metastatic, can be confronted in reconstructive surgery. However, cutaneous metastasis of visceral malignancies is quiet rare. Lung cancers mainly metastasize to brain, bone, liver and adrenal glands. On the other hand, 2.8-8.7% of cases present with cutaneous metastasis. These patients are considered as advanced stage and their prognosis is poor. Surgical resection of the lesion is possible when detected early and life quality of the patient is improved, if it is treated properly. The diagnosis is facilitated by a known history of primary malignancy and the histopathologic resemblance of the primary tumor and the cutaneous metastatic lesion. In this study, two cases were operated for cutaneous metastasis of lung cancer is presented and management principles are discussed.
