摘要
Social representations, from a constructivist socio-cultural perspective, are defined as means of social and cultural mediation that rule social relationships and that, by the same reason, are present in the different areas of human interaction. We will focus on those representations that take place in the education, more precisely, on those constructed around school failure. This term is heterogeneous and several items have impact on it, such as academic performance, behavior considered inadequate in school contexts and staying in the educative facilities. The goal of this paper is to give an insight on the impact that these representations have on the students, aiming at presenting a new vision that generates a context in which the academic development of those involved in the teaching-learning process is promoted, and making, out of everyone of them an actual citizen of the world.
