摘要
Antioxidant activity (AA) of the crude extract and fractions derived from Inula cappa, was evaluated using the alpha, alpha diphenyl-beta-picrylhydrazyl (DPPH) radical scavenging assay, superoxide radical scavenging assay, measurement of reducing power and the measurement of effect on lipid peroxidation in rat liver homogenate, and compared with that of butylated hydroxytoluene (BHT), gallic acid (GA), and ascorbic acid (AscA). The results showed that the methanolic extract and the ethyl acetate-soluble fraction exhibited higher antioxidant activity. The total phenolic, total tannin and total flavonoids content were also determined. Chlorogenic acid is reported for the first time from this plant and a TLC densitometric method was developed for the quantification of Chlorogenic acid.
