BERNSTEIN RAYS IN A TOKAMAK PLASMA IN THE ELECTRON-CYCLOTRON HEATING CONDITIONS

摘要
The authors present results relevant to the ray tracing of Bernstein modes in a rather cold Tokamak, which can help in deciding the damping mechanisms for the energy carried by these waves. Berstein modes are considered as strictly longitudinal waves and their analysis is based on the Vlasov dispersion relation for electrostatic waves, omitting the positive ions dynamics.
