Paper covers an approach to providing a greatly improved marine gas turbine with respect to fuel economy. Coupled with this improvement in fuel economy are potential improvements in reliability and maintainability. A discussion of the modular concepts of gas turbine powering for future ships is given. © 1969 American Society of Naval Engineers
