摘要
Primary processes and LET (linear energy transfer) effects in liquid scintillators have been studied using a nanosecond ion beam pulse radiolysis method as well as picosecond electron beam and synchrotron radiation (SR) pulse radiolysis methods. Fluorescence spectra and time-profiles of 10 mM 2,5-diphenyloxazole (PPO) in toluene, 10 mM p-terphenyl in toluene and neat n-dodecane were measured. Their decays were composed of fast and slow components in the ion beam pulse radiolysis. LET effects on apparent lifetimes of these scintillators could be seen.
