FREQUENCY-MULTIPLIERS WITH QUASI-OPTICAL OUTPUT FOR THE SUBMILLIMETERWAVE RANGE

摘要
A new frequency multiplier design for the submillimeterwave region is presented. It consists of a shielded waveguide-network (hollow waveguide, coaxial line) in the input circuit as it is usual in Millimeterwave-frequency multipliers. Multiplying process and signal output at the harmonics are realized in an ''open-structure-design''. The setup is extended to a multiplier compound where each diode is feeded seperately. In the output circuit the system acts as quasioptical antenna array. By feeding the single active elements with variable phase shift quasioptical interference effects can be utilized for emphasizing the desired signal.
