At the end of the pollen season 1988 pollinosis patients, who used the pollen forecast service (PFS) regularily, were questioned retrospectively for their individual judgement on the pollen forecast prognosis with respect to validity and benefit. Summarizing the results one third of the participants rated the PFS as very useful, one half rated the PFS as less useful and 16% of the participants rated the PFS as not useful. The judgement of the PFS was highly influenced by the individual attitude at begin of the study. Those who intended to use the PFS in any case rated the validity of the PFS and its usefulness much more positive than those, who had no special preference at begin of the study.
