摘要
Cage wear and power loss in a high-speed lightly loaded cylindrical roller bearing are correlated with mass unbalance in the cage. The level of unbalance at which the cage motion becomes unstable is identified. Both inner and outer race-guided cages are modeled. Under stable conditions cage guidance on the stationary outer race leads to reduced cage wear and power loss. The general nature of cage motion, however, is closely similar with both types of guidance.
