PREPARATION, STRUCTURAL CHARACTERIZATION AND ELECTRICAL-PROPERTIES OF COBALT AND ZINC WITH ACRYLAMIDE - ACRYLIC-ACID COPOLYMERS

Novel metal polymers have been prepared from a copolymer of acrylamide and acrylic acid using cobalt chloride and zinc chloride. Spectral and magnetic studies have been used to determine the environment of the metal ion in each of the metal polymers. The metal polymers have been further characterised using thermogravimetry, differential thermal analysis and electrical studies. The room temperature electrical conductivity of the cobalt polymer is 5.64 x 10(-8) OMEGA-1 m-1 and 6.38 x 10(-8) OMEGA-1 m-1 for the zinc copolymer.
