摘要
Double layer capacities and electrocapillary curves were measured for a mercury electrode in contact with eight solutions of sodium formate in water. The results confirm that the formate ion is very weakly adsorbed, making quantitative analysis of specific adsorption inaccurate. The effective dipole of the absorbed ion is very similar to that of other oxyanions such as NO3-, ClO4- and SO42-.
