FAMILIAL EXUDATIVE VITREORETINOPATHY

Six otherwise healthy children in two families presented with a peculiar disease of the vitreous and retina. The disease is apparently familial and features certain aspects of retrolental fibroplasia, Coats' disease, peripheral uveitis and other lesions of the posterior segment. We have classified the condition as a separate entity called familial exudative vitreoretinopathy and have compared it with the various other diseases to be considered in the differential diagnosis. © 1969.
