摘要
This paper proposes a translator which would enable the nomenclature of an inorganic compounds to be translated to a computer-manageable abstract data structure (DIMS). The translator attempts to analyze inorganic compound names drawn from IUPAC, Stock, and classical or conventional nomenclature, as well as trivial names-synonyms and nonsystematic names of these compounds. The process of identification and classification of the morphemes present in a character string representing a compound and also the definition of the free-context grammatical symbols for the analysis of these strings are fully described. Analysis is made of the problems of defined grammars and of the solution adopted for the analysis of input strings by the scanner.
