摘要
In spite of the first signs of globalization make themselves felt in the fifteenth century was until the late twentieth century, from the development and refinement of the Information and Communication Technologies that globalization is affecting the lives of most of the world population. Globalization and its derivatives are terms that are incorporated into the contemporary discourse in an attempt to understand the problems of our time. There is, on one hand, a society prostrate before the fatalism caused the changes caused by the effects of globalization and on the other, the emergence of modes of resistance, as is the case of indigenous Apinaye the northern State of Tocantins. In this sense, the tensions in inter-ethnic relations are intensifying, and as they seek understand the processes of otherness, are faced with challenging situations, as with the urban population of Tocantinopolis and the Apinaye. By the way, this work reflects on the sociocultural relations of people, waving to the need for change, considering the principle of otherness as a requirement for citizenship to become effective, where ethnocentrism is reviewed and perhaps eliminated of form to contribute to be truly on e nation, the Brazilian.
