摘要
The development of the beam plasma instability is studied using a kinetic description of the beam and expanding the background plasma dielectric function for 20 modes around the most unstable mode. The equations are integrated numerically. Relativistic situations involving a finite temperature beam are studied and deviations from previous predictions are found. The turbulence is investigated by including a calculation of trapping and autocorrelation times, and by examining the diffusion of particle orbits.
